BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors is responsible for keeping the orientation and purposes of the Mission; for enabling the functions of the Director and make sure the By Laws are strictly and properly followed. Al the members are volunteers who dedicate the time, talent and some of their treasure to the Mission, knowing this is a service to the brothers and sisters more in need, and throughout them to our Lord and Redeemer who said: “Whatever you do for those the little ones, you are doing it for me.” (Mt. 25: 45). The Board runs quarterly meetings, and whenever there is an extraordinary meeting for special decisions to make.
PROFESSIONALS

The Mission is carried on in a special way for the number of professionals who offer pro-bono services for the families and people in need. Those professionals are needed mainly in the areas of health: medical care, nurses, dentists, physical therapists and mental health. Other professionals in the area of legal representation: civil, criminal justice, immigration, and commercial advise. Accountants, social workers, teachers for tutoring in math, English and social science (preparation of the naturalization exam.). We apply the saying “Giving a fish calms hunger for one day; teaching to fish calms the hunger for many days.. we also add that we have to look at the pond where they fish to make sure it is healthy and to check if there is enough fish (the social part of the equation). People need orientation on this regard, too.
AMITEP

The Friends of the Tepeyac Mission (Amigos de Tepeyac, AMITEP) is a larger circle of the net that makes possible many aspects of the charitable work of Tepeyac. Some of those friends help in the planning and developing of our projects (fundraising events, physical work to help families in moving out to another dwelling, fixing a house, finding and collecting furniture, food, clothes etc. Some of the members of “Amitep” commit themselves to donate monthly a determinated amount of money. This money keeps the Mission running and allows us for being useful in times of calamities and emergencies for the immigrant families.
SPECIAL VOLUNTEERS

We always say that the Mission is in the heart of each one of our volunteers. We can call up several names at every function or community action, and volunteers come with a smile, and a willingness to work for others. That is what makes present the Mission at moments of despair, bringing a message of faith and hope in the Lord.
EVENTS

The many situations of need gives way to have several events or actions in the community. Some volunteers respond quickly to events that show solidarity and friendship to others. If you want to be called just for specific events (sports related, artistic, construction or decoration), please indicate when you sign in for events.)
CONTRIBUTIONS

The Tepeyac Mission has been collecting pennies for our 20 years of existence. As of today, we collect an average of $150 per month from our piggy or can banks. By collecting these pennies several children in the families are learning a basic lesson of sharing, and learning that little by little, if we joins efforts we can accomplish great works together. A little one-cent coin has also the inscription “In God We Trust” the original motto of this great Country. If you see a little penny lying on the floor, the name of God is in scripted there, and you do not want to have anyone to step on the Name of God. Please, contact us to have your can-bank, and start filling it up with the pennies around your home; somebody is waiting for the help of that little cent.
